At Yembroos Animal Feeds India Pvt. Ltd., we specialize in manufacturing and supplying a wide range of Alfalfa Pellets for diverse animal feeding applications.
Our production includes 8 mm and 10 mm Alfalfa Pellets, designed to meet the nutritional requirements of livestock and the forage feed industry.
Each pellet is processed with precision to maintain natural nutrients, aroma, and digestibility for optimum animal health.
Alfalfa Pelleting Process
In India, alfalfa is cultivated between November and April, with harvesting beginning around the 45th day after planting.
The freshly cut green alfalfa is spread across fields for natural sun-curing, a critical step that ensures the leaves retain their vibrant green color and nutritional value without turning yellow.
After about 7 days of careful drying, the green alfalfa is converted into high-quality hay. The hay is then transported to our production unit, where the first stage involves cleaning and sieving to eliminate dust and foreign particles.
Next, hard stem fragments are removed through mechanical separation, leaving behind soft, dehydrated leaves and stems. These are ground into a fine powder, forming a uniform alfalfa meal.
This meal undergoes steam treatment at 100°C for approximately 8 minutes, which detoxifies and pre-cooks the material, enhancing digestibility and safety.
The cooked meal is then processed through extrusion pelleting technology, where temperatures can reach up to 123°C under controlled mechanical pressure within a 22 ft extrusion barrel.
Finally, the freshly formed pellets are cooled to room temperature, maintaining a moisture level below 12%.
This advanced pelleting process ensures that our Alfalfa Hay Pellets (8×25 mm and 10×25 mm) are hygienic, nutritionally rich, and perfectly suited for both animal and poultry feed.
Facts About Indian Alfalfa
The cost of alfalfa hay or pellets is directly linked to dry matter recovery after sun-curing, which generally ranges from 10% to 15%.
In simple terms, 100 kg of fresh alfalfa yields about 10–15 kg of hay, depending on environmental conditions and moisture levels in the crop.
Unlike colder regions such as Canada, Northern USA, New Zealand, and parts of Europe, India benefits from direct sunlight and nutrient-rich soils, making Indian alfalfa naturally higher in nutritional value.
With three distinct agricultural seasons — summer, monsoon, and winter — Indian alfalfa achieves better growth and nutrient retention.
Although sun-curing cannot be performed during the rainy season, the harvested alfalfa (November–April) can be safely stored and processed into pellets throughout the year.
This makes year-round supply possible with proper production planning.

Alfalfa Pellets – General Details
Our Alfalfa Pellets are produced using premium-grade Green Indian Alfalfa Hay Leaves, ensuring superior nutritional value and digestibility for all livestock species. In the Alfalfa Plus variant, we enhance the product with essential vitamins, minerals, and trace elements formulated according to the specific nutritional needs of each animal category.
The pellets are 100% vegetarian and available in 8 x 25 mm and 10 x 25 mm sizes. The product maintains a maximum moisture content of 15% to ensure optimal shelf life and feeding quality. Each pack carries the YEMBROOS® branding and a net weight of 39 kg. Pricing is calculated on a per-unit basis for 39 kg packing, and our production capacity reaches 100 metric tons per day.
All batches are analyzed as per IS:2052 standards (Proximate Analysis on Dry Matter Basis) to maintain consistent quality. Fumigation is carried out using Aluminum Phosphide or Methyl Bromide, or as per buyer specifications. Factory visits are not permitted to maintain biosecurity and hygiene protocols.
Domestic Buyer Information
For domestic clients, the pellets are packed in milky white polypropylene bags. Pricing is offered on an Ex-Factory basis, and payments are accepted 100% in advance via bank transfer, cash, cheque, RTGS, or NEFT.

Nutritional Value Disclaimer
The nutritional composition of our Alfalfa Pellets depends directly on the quality and nutrient profile of the raw material used during production.
As alfalfa is a natural agricultural product, minor variations in nutrient levels are normal and should be considered acceptable.
We ensure consistent quality through stringent processing and quality-control measures, but natural deviations may occur within standard tolerances.
